TITANIC TRUCKING PROFILE

Titanic Trucking was founded in Cape Town in 2001. Since its inception the company has grown and expanded with facilities in most of the major centres, Johannesburg, Durban, Bloemfontein and Eastern Cape.

The company started out as a bulk haulier with one vehicle and as demand for break bulk cargo increased, changed its operation to a full distribution service whilst constantly expanding its operation.

Today the company operates a large fleet of vehicles for both local and long distance distribution. The company offers storage facilities at its Cape Town and Johannesburg warehouses. The Cape Town depot is the companies head office and the centre for all operations.

SERVICES AND ROUTES

Titanic Trucking is a licensed general goods and hazchem carrier offering a variety of options to our clients. We transport most types of chemicals, paint products, medical goods, freight goods, small machinery, spice, textiles and most other general goods. We offer a normal and freight service on bulk deliveries as well.

Our main routes are between Cape Town and Johannesburg, Cape Town, to Durban return, Cape Town to the Eastern Cape return, Cape Town to Bloemfontein and Johannesburg to Durban. We also service outlying areas such as Polokwane, Middleburg and Mafikeng. Other routes can be negotiated if required.

VEHICLES

In order to meet growing demands on our long haul division, we have opted to upgrade our vehicles. The chosen vehicles have been carefully researched and tested to comply with the companies growing demands. Furthermore these vehicles are backed by the manufacturers 24hr roadside assistance which has a countrywide network. This service is aimed at minimising breakdown times in order to keep our vehicles constantly on the move and ensure our customers receive the best possible service.

We also operate various other smaller vehicles for local distribution and collections. Various types of long haul vehicles are available to our clients in order to satisfy their loading requirements. These include superlink tautliners (curtain sides), superlink pantec's (closed body), individual 6m and 12m trailers as well as 8 tonners and 14 tonners.

Our tautliner vehicles are fitted with drop sides on the inside of the trailers in order to safely secure hazchem and general cargo loads during transit.

OPERATIONS

Operations staff are diligently trained to handle the changing transport environment. As a result this minimises previously unforeseen delays and setbacks and also ensures that all requirements and queries are met and expedited timorously. The general manager makes certain that all operations and administrations are carried out properly at all times.
ADMINISTRATION

Administration is carried out via the latest computer software packages and systems. This facilitates the processing of operating documents and a quick solution to queries, placing the client first in all our operations.

MANAGEMENT

Our management team has been involved in the transport sector for over 40 years, thereby knowing and understanding the importance of transporter reliability and customers satisfaction. The management team oversees and finalises all decisions pertaining to the company and all daily operations.

COMMUNICATION AND MONITORING

For safety reasons as well as customer satisfaction, all vehicles are fitted with LIVE tracking and surveillance systems, enabling us to pinpoint the exact whereabouts of any given vehicle. Furthermore we have installed the latest TRUCKCAB video systems in our fleet which allows picture and video monitoring by our independent surveillance company. This helps to curb accident rates and positively influences driver behaviour on the road. For added convenience all trucks are fitted with a vocal communication device as well so that the operations team are always in contact with the driver.

INSURANCE

Customers must notify Titanic Trucking in advance if insurance is required on goods transported. Titanic Trucking also has a separate environmental cover to ensure that any hazchem incidents are covered and all clean up procedures and cost attended to.

DRIVERS AND LABOURERS

All manual labour personnel have been screened and trained to carry out their appointed duties in a professional manner at all times. This is an important factor in our commitment to the client and also serves to certify the safety of all items in regard to reliability and trustworthiness. All drivers are trained to handle hazchem responsibilities.

MAINTENANCE OF VEHICLES

All vehicles are maintained and serviced by the manufacturers intervals ensuring maximum performance and minimal breakdowns. Vehicles are checked prior to every trip and are pre-scheduled for regular service / maintenance once a month.
